Hillary S. Cheng is an associate with McKennon Law Group PC. She is admitted to practice in California, Massachusetts, and New Hampshire (currently in inactive status in New Hampshire). Prior to joining the firm, Ms. Cheng focused on civil and criminal litigation including immigration and criminal defense in the greater Boston area. In her previous practice, she represented clients before immigration courts, the Board of Immigration Appeals, U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS), the U.S. Court of Appeals for the First Circuit, and various state courts, including the highest court in Massachusetts, the Supreme Judicial Court. During law school, Ms. Cheng interned for a Massachusetts district court judge, the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission (EEOC), the Lawyers’ Committee for Civil Rights (LCCR), and New Hampshire Legal Assistance (NHLA), New Hampshire’s statewide legal aid organization. Through NHLA and the Volunteer Lawyers Project (VLP) in Boston, Ms. Cheng represented claimants, as a pro bono student attorney, in appeals of their unemployment insurance denials in both New Hampshire and Massachusetts.

Presently, Ms. Cheng represents insureds, claimants, and beneficiaries in a broad range of civil litigation matters, specializing in insurance and ERISA disputes involving life, health, long-term disability, and short-term disability claim denials. Ms. Cheng is also a contributing author to the firm’s California Insurance Litigation Blog.
